Iris + Ford is a full service editorial photography team based in NYC. A partnership made up of two distinct artists, Iris and Ford bring a unique perspective to what can be captured between individuals and relationships alike.
Capturing the small moments of a season and bookmarking them into our memories is exactly what got us into photography and this season of your life truly deserves to be documented. Being able to transport yourselves back to a time and place, remember the emotion that’s wrapped up in a single glance and feel the spark that an engagement holds, that’s the importance of these sessions. It is truly a gift to be able to capture and preserve the excitement, romance, and intimacy. We'll meet up at sunrise or sunset, explore something new, adventure into the wild, and take some photos of love personified.

Why we shoot film
We aim to deliver timeless, classic photos that feel like they've been pulled straight from your grandmother's photo album - images meant to be printed, framed, and cherished, not just stored on a phone. We feel that film is the perfect way to add the nuance and intention behind your celebration. While we always shoot digital, film photography is central to our creative process and how we capture each moment.
With almost a decade of experience in the art of shooting and developing film, we bring a high level of experience and craftsmanship to the process, working with both medium format and 35mm film on a variety of cameras. We don't offer Film as an add-on but rather include it into the base package-it's a core part of how we document your story, ensuring your photos feel authentic, timeless, and unforgettable. If you are considering an all-film experience without digital, we would be delighted to craft a custom package just for you.
Of course! We can absolutely have your animals in any of your photos. We generally recommend factoring in extra time and having a friend bring them part way into our session.
Can we bring our dogs/animals?
Yes! Traveling is one of our biggest sources of inspiration. There is no limit to the places we can go. If you feel like Alaska best suits yourself and your partner, let's go to Alaska.
Do you travel?
Definitely! Let us know if you’d like to see a completed gallery online – We love sharing galleries to give you an idea of what a full session is like!
Can I see a full gallery before I book?
Human connection, light, vulnerability, composition, and a fresh perspective.
What makes a good photograph?
So many of our couples tell us that they're awkward having their photo taken. Our job is to make you feel comfortable, create trust between us, and just let you be. Don't worry! You just need to be open to the experience and remember why you're there -- what it is that draws you to your person and celebrating that.
What if we're awkward in photos?
Couple sessions vary but on average about 80-120 per hour of coverage. Studio sessions vary 30-60 images.
How many photos will we recieve?
Your photos will be posted online 3-5 weeks in an online gallery for you to share with family and friends to view and buy prints! We’ll also send download instructions for your high resolution files for you to print from, share, post on social media, etc. We’d love for you to share your images, but you are only asked to please not edit or modify them or use them for commercial purposes.
How long before we see our photos?
For local clients where travel isn’t involved, We usually will recommend rescheduling if the weather is calling for 60% chance of rain or more the day before our session. At least a 24 hour notice is needed for us to make other arrangements if cancellation or a reschedule is necessary. Simply overcast days give really brilliant, soft light, but we have some options for rainy or snowy days like: An indoor rain plan (a bar, a museum, an in-home shoot) or grab some umbrellas and shoot anyway (Pacific Northwest style). We want you to love everything about your photos and your experience working with us, so if reschedule we must, reschedule we shall!
What if there is inclement weather?
We accept checks or cash and will send you information about the best way to make payments along with the contract. The session fees are split into two payments; $1000 due with the contract to reserve your date and the remaining balance is due on the day of the session.
What are the payment options?
Whenever you’re ready to book your session date, we’ll send you an online contract for you to fill out online. Both the signed contract and payment are due to secure your session date.
