Capturing weddings for couples based in New York — whether you're celebrating in the city, escaping to the countryside, or flying overseas.
Based in New York, Iris + Ford is a wedding photography studio known for blending the depth of film with a refined, editorial approach. We work with couples who live in the city but often choose to marry elsewhere, whether that’s a tented weekend in the Hamptons, a Catskills gathering, or a multi-day celebration in Italy.
Our style is intentional, tactile, and honest. We shoot both film and digital formats to capture timeless images with nuance and clarity, never overdone, always personal.
Documenting this time in your lives isn’t just about beautiful photographs, it’s about preserving the feeling of the day. A glance that catches your breath, a quiet laugh after a long stare, the way time folds when you’re pulled in close. These are the moments we want you to return to, again and again.
With nearly a decade of experience photographing weddings, we know how to balance the energy of the day, to offer calm direction while giving you space to fully experience it. From location scouting and timelines to vision boards and one-on-one calls, we approach every wedding as a collaboration.
You’ll walk away from your wedding day knowing you were fully present — with each other, your friends, your families — and that every fleeting, spontaneous moment was carefully documented in both film and digital.
We work with film as our foundation. The slower pace of the medium allows us to see more carefully, and to photograph with intention. Film holds light differently — there is weight in the shadows, softness in the highlights, and a timeless quality in every frame.
Our editorial perspective is shaped by fashion and fine art. We look for movement, texture, and the fleeting gestures that define a wedding day: the nervous laughter just before walking down the aisle, the way a dress shifts in the wind, the stillness of two people catching each other’s eyes across a crowded room.
We aim for images that are elegant, but never staged; photographs that feel like memory, yet belong in an archive of style.
Whether you’re planning a small gathering in Brooklyn, a black-tie celebration in Manhattan, or a rooftop dinner overlooking the skyline, we would love to document your story. Please fill out the form below or send a note directly to studio@irisandford.com
Editorial is about intention and perspective. We look beyond simple documentation to create photographs that feel styled, textured, and timeless without losing their authenticity. It’s the balance of fashion-inspired imagery and candid moments that allows our work to live both as art and as memory.
Yes. While NYC is our home, we also document weddings across the Hudson Valley, Hamptons, Cape Cod, Nantucket, and destinations worldwide. Many of our couples live in New York but celebrate elsewhere, and we design our process to move seamlessly between locations.
We see planners as collaborators. From the flow of the day to the smallest detail, our role is to complement their work while bringing our perspective as film photographers. We coordinate with planners, florists, and stylists to ensure the rhythm of the wedding allows space for natural, editorial photographs.
Film holds shadow and light with a particular depth, which means venues with texture and atmosphere often come alive in unique ways. Spaces like the Bowery Hotel and Hotel Chelsea offer layered, moody backdrops, while Palma and Bobo glow with warmth and intimacy. For natural light, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Prospect Park allow for luminous, organic photographs. Each space offers something distinct, and we tailor our approach to highlight that.
Yes. Some of our favorite work has come from smaller celebrations; a Central Park elopement at sunrise, a dinner tucked into a private dining room in Tribeca, or a quiet ceremony in a Brooklyn brownstone. Intimate weddings allow for an attention to detail and a slower pace that is beautifully suited to film photography.
